Dr. Atluri graduated from Stanford University in California, where he obtained a degree in electrical engineering and computer science. He then completed his residency and received his M.D. degree at the University of Illinois-Chicago campus in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. He served a Microvascular Hand and Upper Extremity Fellowship at the Philadelphia Hand Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Atluri is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and has been certified as having added qualifications in Surgery of the Hand. He is a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Chicago Society for Surgery of the Hand. Dr. Atluri speaks Spanish and can converse in Telugu and Hindi.

His practice is limited to surgery of the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder.
